first of all, thank you everyone for your support. i have learned alot from everyone's feedback and criticism. I went ahead and revised core parts of the mod to improve them based on all the feedback.
apart from bugfixes, this version introduces significantly improved dimensions and way more balanced gameplay structure for early game and late game. this pacing adjustment was necessary since one of the core flaws of the first release was the pacing issues.
patch notes:
- re-balanced phase 0 spawn chances and removed the
'exiled_attack'event from it's event pool. - dimension teleportation will now prefer dimensions you have not visited previously.
- event engine was remade to implement silence, atmospheric-only events at times, and then introduce hostility. (experimental)
- events are now significantly more slow-burn to provide a better experience.
- pity-timers were introduced if an event does not occur, to ensure atleast something happens.
- reworked general phase timing and duration
- various bugs regarding dimensions were fixed, including:
- fixed coordinate teleportation bug in the
bufferdimension where you would spawn at coordinates upwards of 100,000 x and y. - implemented teleportation checks to ensure spawning inside a wall is not possible.
- implemented check to ensure spawning in the
bufferdimension does not guarantee a fall into the void - improved loading times for dimensions using CPU-based structure generation instead of reading from .nbt files, for optimization.
- dimensions have been given more flair. you will see the following:
- the
mossdimension's exit will turn into cobblestone and stone about 30 blocks away, signaling an exit is nearby. - the
archivesandlower archivesdimension structures have been changed to feature doorways and fences. - the
graveyarddimension now features slight vertical terrain and lit-up exits. - the
densedimension no longer has bugged mob spawning, and exits are more common. - the
woodroomdimension has more common exits. - possibly the best change, dimensions now have naturally spawning exits with different chances per dimension (unlike the previous hard-coded exits at fixed coordinates). this will ensure you actually find the exit in a reasonable amount of time.
